Another colorguard competition today. We had one last Saturday in Reno too. I have yet another next Saturday as well. It's pretty exausting. practice 4 days a week each hours long. For those of you reading this who dont know what colorguard is, we are the poeple who spin the flags when the marching band goes out at half time for football games. Some refuse to believe colorguard is a sport. But i would like to see those people spin a weighted 6 foot pole, without getting the silk (thats the flag part) tangled, then toss it in a full spin, dance underneath it- still moving mind you- catch it corectly, and keep going like nothing happened, ALL WITH A BIG SMILE ON YOUR FACE. oh and lets not forget about the unconfortable costumes and heavy makeup ur not aloud to ruin. In one week we work about 12 and 1/2 hours. now tell me that colorguard isnt a sport because we "dont really have to do much." But, you know what they say, If colorguard's too much for you to handle,go be a cheerleader.
